My Grandfather Ali
Taleb Mallad from Tebnin, Lebanon came to America in 1905, Returned to
Tebnin in 1924 and married Fatima Sareini, Born June 1925 was my
father Houssain Ali Taleb Mallad in Tebnin, My Gido, Sito and my
father came to America in 1927, between 1927 and 1933 born were Taleb,
Richard and Joe Mallad in Dearborn, MI. in 1933 Gido,Sito and the 4
Boys returned to Tebnin, born between 1934 and 1938 were Miriam Ali
Taleb Mallad Chahine, and a set of twins Julia Mallad Hamid and Sue Mallad
Sareini, In 1938 my Gido returned to the USA, he lived in Highland
Park and Dearborn Michigan. In 1945 my Father Houssain Ali Taleb Mallad
came back to the USA at the age of 18 years old. 6 months after his return
to the USA his father Ali Taleb Mallad died, leaving my father in
the US alone. In 1948 he married my mother Skiney Jafar Assad, she
was born in America and her family was from Baalback Lebanon. By 1949 all
my Fathers family had come to the US from Tebnin, Sito, Talab, Richard,
Joe, Mary, Julie and Sue. I Allen Houssain Ali Taleb Mallad was
born July 6, 1949. Born to me are my Sons, Houssain (40) Allen Jr. (38)
and Jordan (14). I have 7 grandchildren. And in 1952 my sister
Suzanne Mallad Sareini was born, Suzanne is currently serving in her
5th term as City Councilwoman for the city of Dearborn, she also was the
first Muslim woman to be elected to any office in the USA. I took
my father who was dying of cancer for my 1st visit to Tebnin in 1977 a
couple of months before my father death, this trip was the most important
trip of my life! I returned a couple of times and in 1983 I received my
Lebanese Citizenship and Passport, which made me an official citizen of
Tebnin.
